Internet Access @ Wichita DataCenter & Beyond
Wichita DataCenters provides its customers the highest quality bandwidth both within the datacenter and beyond. WDC acquires bandwidth from multiple carriers at the 125 N. Market (KSB&T) facility and delivers it to customers both within the datacenter and to customers located all around the area via wireless, Point to Point T1, Private Network Transport or Metro Ethernet. This way customers can not only recieve the high quailtiy bandwidth produced by having multiple internet carriers but customers can also be "On Net" with their servers located at our facilities.
Today WDC procures bandwidth from MCI (Verizon Business), Telcove (Level 3) and Cox Communications. Currently WDC utilizes both Legacy SBC and Legacy Telcove (Level 3) for metro Ethernet private line services. WDC Utilizes AT&T for national Private Network Transport services. WDC Utilizes Verizon, AT&T and Alltel for nationwide point to point connectivity.
At this time, WDC has three different ways of pricing internet bandwidth; Dedicated Bandwidth, Non-Dedicated Bandwidth and Bandwidth by Transfer.
Dedicated Bandwidth:
DB is bandwidth delivered to a customers server or premises of speeds that are guaranteed and dedicated to that customer. This is for customers who transfers large amounts of data and demand the highest quality bandwidth and availability of that bandwidth. Pricing starting as low as $200 per month.
Example: Customer orders 10 Megabytes of internet, the customer is dedicated 10 Megabytes of internet and those 10 Megabytes are not shared with any other WDC customer.
Non-Dedicated Bandwidth:
NDB is bandwidth delivered to a customers server or premises of speeds that are burstable to a set amount. Customers who exceed the 95th percentile of usage are required to raise to the next level of service. This solution is best for smaller customers with small offices or are colocating a small number of server or requires less bandwidth than larger customers with dedicated bandwidth. Pricing starting as low as $40 per month.
Example: Customer orders 10 Megabytes of non-dedicated internet, the customer can burst up to 10 Megabytes but the speed is not guaranteed and that bandwidth is shared among multiple users. WDC strives to provide as much bandwidth and the least amount of overselling as possible.
Bandwidth by Transfer:
BBT is bandwidth designed specifically for very specific applications that require high bandwidth but is not often used. BBT is bandwidth delivered to a customer at maximum throughput but is billed by how much information is transmitted and received. WDC meters this and charges by the Terabyte transferred. This solution is great for internet radio or video stations who are starting up who need high burst rates, but wont use much total transfer. This is also great for small, single server colocation customers who may host a few websites or host games. Pricing starting as low as $40 per month.
Example: Customer is running an embedded video system for websites and only pulls a couple of videos every month. The customer gets utilization of all available bandwidth at the moment the video is played to prevent buffering issues but the customer doesn't intend allot of traffic.
