The Wichita DataCenters Facilities

Wichita DataCenters utilizes three facilities to provide its customers the highest in availability, functionality and flexibility.  These facilities are the; Wichita DataCenters KSB&T Building facility, the Kansas Hosting Server Center and the Kansas City Network Access Point.

Wichita DataCenters KSB&T Building Carrier Neutral DC & NAP

125 N. Market, Suite 540 - Wichita Kansas

The Wichita DataCenters, KSB&T Building facility is located at 125 N. Market Street in downtown Wichita Kansas. This building is within blocks of all major telecommunications carriers in the area. These carriers either currently serve or can, upon request, directly serve the center. The facility is located within the same building as the regional MCI/UUNET POP (Now Verizon Business) as well as the Prairie Stream Communications local NOC and a private, banking software datacenter. This creates the potential within the location for a carrier neutral site which allows for multiple and redundant bandwidth connections for any client who requests it, regardless of primary carrier.

The colocation portion of the facility is located within the building, surrounded by concrete block walls on the 5th floor of a concrete and steel building, several blocks from the river in the downtown core. This location provides its customers stable infrastructure for the colocation of critical data. The data center infrastructure will support a wide variety of hardware including racked servers and peripherals as well as special needs security cages in a climate controlled and monitored facility. The facility also boasts redundant Libert air conditioning systems, raised floor system, direct power feed from the buildings transformers, and a HALON fire suppression system to ensure the optimal environment for data storage, hosting, disaster recovery, and any other services.

In addition the facility is located in a geographically centralized location. Outside of the high internet traffic areas of the east, west and gulf coasts thus reducing latency associated with multiple hops on lengthy cross country routs. Centralized server systems require optimal routing for the best performance. WDC's geographical locality places it within the Wichita power grid and the Southwest Power Pool. Historically, the downtown building in which Wichita DataCenters is located has not seen outages in excess of a few minutes in over two decades. The dependability of the power grid allows customers to be less concerned about power outages, interruptions and provider blackouts than they would be in other locations.

Kansas Hosting Server Center

209 E. William, Suite 1000 - Wichita Kansas

The Kansas Hosting Server Center is located two blocks south of the Wichita DataCenters DC at the corporate offices of Kansas Hosting and Wichita DataCenters.  This facility is primarily designed for single server, low bandwidth applications as well as the disaster recovery site to the primary center.

The facility itself is directly connected via a Metro Ethernet Link provided Telcove (now Level 3) on their fully redundant, downtown fiber network to the Wichita DataCenters KSB&T facility.  This link is used to provide the same, high quality, high speed internet, low cost bandwidth to the Kansas Hosting Server Center as well as connect the two facilities on the same physical LAN to provide direct access to the KSB&T Facility systems.

This facility also servers as the Network Operations Center for both facilities and all Wichita DataCenters remote clients locally and nationwide.

Kansas City Network Access Point Partner Facility

1102 N. Grand - Kansas City Missouri

The Kansa City NAP is located in downtown Kansas City, MO and is Wichita DataCenter's choice partner DataCenter facility in the Kansas City Metro Area.  The KC NAP is a provider of premium Internet Services and private NAP access in the Kansas City Metro. The KC NAP operates the only private Network Access Point located in the Kansas City Area and the only one outside of Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas and Denver. This partnership gives WDC direct access to a Tier 1 Faciltiy outside the geographic area of central Kansas and gives WDC greater performance and coverage with the ability of local and national routing, including hand-offs to multiple diverse tier 1 carriers. The KC NAP offers flexible connectivity options with the availability of solutions to accommodate all of WDC's current and future internet access needs.

The KC NAP has a "Carrier Neutral", all IP based network providing larger interconnection capabilities than most public NAPs, with speeds ranging up to 10 Gb/s. With this type of leverage, WDC can offer in its facilities the fastest, highest quality and lowest cost bandwidth around.

Wichita DataCenters and the KC NAP are working to construct a direct optical connection between eh two facilities to provide a high-speed "On Net" solution between all three facilities.
